Carrying the 41-pound Bay 21Specifications

The boat is designed as an intermediate recreational rowing shell—challenging and fun for the experienced sculler and less tippy than a racing shell for the new rower. Originally designed for rowers 130 to 175 lbs., the Bay 21 has been the winning boat for a 115-lb. rower in the women's Northwest Regional Championships. The Bay 21 is also used for recreational rowers up 225 lbs. at the Calm Waters Rowing camp in Virginia, where Coach John Dunne comments that it is the only recreational shell he has seen for rowers that size.
